Eleazer Trust initiated a Clothing Drive
Eleazer Trust initiated a Clothing Drive with the objectives to clothe the poor during this chilly winter at very low or no cost in remote villages of North East India.
The drive started in the month of october and continued till December of 2017. We started the collection from the students of Lady Hardinge Medical College in Delhi initially. There were many who needed to rid themselves of old clothes. This was perfect because we knew that there were people who need warm clothes for the upcoming winter season. The drive went on to include more people from around the city of Delhi and NCR. There were a total of around 30 clothes donors.
We had collected around 15-18 sacks of clothes which were couriered to meghalaya.
The clothes were sold in bundle at a very subsidized price to the local sales ladies who retail sold it at the weekly markets in the small villages.
This initiative honestly was a huge success. Many could give away the clothes that were of no use to them. And on the other side, so many villagers back home would need warm clothes for winter as well as for gifting purposes for Christmas. We could also give employment to some sales lady. It’s such a blessing to be able to help someone.
Profit, if any after transportation and distribution, will be used to fund the ongoing sponsoring of the education to primary school students of 85 students.
Everyone truly has a Choice.
The Donors chose Kindness.
A very big Thank You to our donors.
God bless you richly.
